Sonos speakers are known for their high-quality sound, ease of use, and integration with music streaming services. But, sometimes they won’t work properly and you must reset them. So, how to reset Sonos speakers?
To reset Sonos speakers, unplug the power cord, press the Join (infinity) button, Play/Pause, or Mute button. Then, you must plug in the power cord while keeping the button pressed. You can release the button once the LED light flashes a red color.
However, this process doesn’t work with all models/types. Each model has its unique method and lighting indicators that reset and indicate when the speaker is ready to use.
Why Should You Reset Sonos Speakers?
You should reset Sonos speakers if there’s a software bug or glitch, if you are adding the speaker to a new Sonos system, if there are network changes (e.g. Wi-Fi password change), if you are selling the speaker, or for troubleshooting purposes (e.g. the speaker won’t turn off/on or the sound is delayed).
A hard reset will restore the original factory settings of the speaker, clear the internal memory, disconnect the speaker from its existing Sonos system, and remove any custom settings you may have configured on the Sonos speaker (including Wi-Fi network information, music service accounts, room assignments, and any personalized settings).
After a hard reset, you must manually re-configure the Sonos speaker.
